Statement of Faith
First Baptist Church is a fellowship of God's people who seek to draw others to Jesus Christ and to grow in discipleship that we may go forth to spread God's word and to serve the word to the glory of God.
We are honored that you are visiting our web site. Being a religious organization, we are always striving to find new ways to get our message out to current and prospective members. This web site allows us to reach people we may never have been able to contact before.
Please use this site to access the information you need about the church and as a resource for broadening your faith. We look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you might have.

Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn and fear the Lord your God; and that their children which have not known anything, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God."
Deuteronomy 31: 12,13
March 24,2002 The SOS Celebration included workers, friends, members and committee members who contributed in any way to the Save Our Structure project. All our faithful donors were invited to join us as we rededicated our church home. Our sincere gratitude goes to the SOS Fund-raising and Building Committees. A total of $115,330 has been spent to date. We dreamed the impossible dream-and it came true.
Having been led, as we believe, by the spirit of God to receive Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, and having united with this Church, we do now, in the presence of God, enter into covenant with each other. We agree to work harmoniously together in this Church by helping
to sustain its worship and doctrines, by contributing to the expenses of its ministries and by giving of our talents and time to carry on its activities. In our private lives we will, with the help of God, exemplify through our daily conduct the standard of Christian living. We shall endeaver to maintain the spirit of true religion in our homes, use our personal influence to bring others into the Christian life, and be just and sympathetic in all our dealings with our fellow men.
We shall do all within our power to spread the gospel of Christ throughout the world.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but to be always ready to seek reconciliation without delay.
We moreover engage, that when we remove from this place, we will as soon as possible unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principals of God's Word.
Jay Gray, Colleen and J.P. Riley, Roger Gerrish, John, Meghann, Nick, and Lindsey Banker.

If you missed the Prayer evening at FBC, you should try to be there next Thursday, for a Prayer Gathering.
"Thou has promised that where two or three are gathered together in Thy name, thou will be in the midst of them and bless them." In His name it is that the Prayer group assembled Thursday evening, and we pray that the words spoken and the concerns of our hearts were heard by Heaven.
